This is going to be an entry of links and little commentary, I've been exceptionally busy IRL and apologize for not dealing with all the emails from the past 2 weeks yet. I promise more comprehensive updates soon!

Reassuring: Six Apart VP Anil Dash says "we really like having our community do a sanity check for us."
Less reassuring: Anil Dash offends some other LJ users.
These posts relate to another Petition about LiveJournal. You might also be interested in this post by former LJ employee insomnia.
Lastly I'm sorry to see that someone is using the comments here to further a private vendetta with another LJ user. If it continues I will turn on comment moderating. No I am not yellowest-finch, and it has not been at all hidden that Christine D (who took over the updates on the breastfeeding icon fiasco one weekend for me when I was away and it was all happening) is realcdaae on LiveJournal. I have linked to some of her posts.

lol, I love how she announces cdaae's GJ account as if it's a secret they're the same person when that account has a link right back to her LJ. Oh wow how damning and damaging!
You should post the link, people will lol. It acts against your case though because that blog is a great example of something that LJ Abuse wouldn't allow because it is a blog created to harass individuals, but blogger allows it, and maybe in this case LJ Abuse would be right?

WTF Not Naive is on crack.
They think they are this pseudo journalist. And that real journalist’s right about freedom of speech belongs to them also.
US courts agree with them.
"Reporters Without Borders (May 30) noted: "Reporters Without Borders today hailed a Californian appeal court's 'historic' decision on May 26 that online journalists and bloggers have the same right to protect their sources as other kinds of journalists. Amongst the many burning questions which instantly occur to me, I have to wonder why, if you were yellowest-finch, you would have added my blogger account as a poster to this blog, rather than just giving me the password to make posts under your ID, since she's one of my best friends!
I'm sad not to get to read your commentary on the vampire hunters, I do hope you'll give us a more detailed report on that one soon.

they don't understand the difference between freedom of speech being about what the us government can enact laws about, and a private business. if they are talking about lj as a private business freedom of speech is irrelevant and they shouldn't use that phrase. they obviously don't understand what they are talking about.

So, even though the thread was specifically a request for high-school valedictorians that use LJ, ladystardust_xs post a long attention-getting posts about her personal beef with LJ. Fine to have a beef and all, but to post out-of-context and then complain elsewhere about posting out of context? Brilliant stuff there.
